The engineering support in validation and release of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ADAS for a new family of hydrogen-electric intercity buses.
4. Description of the subject of the contract
a. Brief description of the subject of the contract:
The subject of the contract is the provision of comprehensive engineering support for the development, validation, integration and release of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ADAS for a new family of hydrogen-electric intercity buses. The scope includes both direct engineering activities performed by the Contractor and coordinated collaboration with The Ordering Party’s engineering specialists engaged in the project. Engineering support under this order will apply to two types of buses: 13m Low Entry Class II and 13m Normal Entry Class III.
b. Purpose of the contract:
Development and verification of a new family of hydrogen-electric intercity buses.
c. Detailed description of the subject of the contract:
The order is related to support of external engineers during road test and release of the following systems:
1 Moving Off Information System (MOIS):
Description of functionality: Short-range radar monitors road users ahead of the bus. When a potential collision is identified, the driver receives a warning on a display located in the driver’s cabin.
Applies to the bus: 13m Low Entry class II
2 Blind Spot Information System (BSIS)
Description of functionality: Short-range radars monitor cyclists on the right side of the bus. If a potential collision is detected, the driver is alerted via a display mounted in the driver’s cabin.
Bus:13m Low Entry class II
3 Intelligent Speed Assistant (ISA)
Description of functionality: System combines input from the front-facing camera and GPS-based map data. It identifies both posted speed limits and implicit restrictions, then compares them with the vehicle’s current speed. If the speed limit is exceeded, warning alerts are displayed via the HMI. When speed limits are not clearly visible, the system relies on the speed limit information stored in the map (GPS) database.
Bus: 13m Low Entry class II
4 Collision Mitigation System (CMS) for class I and II buses, Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) for class III buses
Description of functionality: System issues both visual and audible warnings when there is a risk of a frontal collision with vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians. If the driver does not respond in time, the system automatically engages the brakes to mitigate collision.
Bus: CMS - 13m Low Entry class II, AEBS -13m Normal Floor class III
5 Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
Description of functionality: System delivers both audible and visual alerts when the front camera detects an unintended lane departure (without activating the indicators).
Bus: 13m Low Entry class II
6 Automatic High Beam Control (AHBC)
Description of functionality: System detects the headlights of oncoming or preceding vehicles and automatically switches off the high beams when required, then restores them once the road ahead is clear.
Bus: 13m Low Entry class II
7 Passive Lane Change Assist (PLCA)
Description of functionality: This function monitors the blind spot and nearby areas to detect other vehicles. It provides information about whether current conditions are suitable for a lane change. If the driver signals a lane change in a potentially unsafe situation, the system issues a warning. The system uses radar sensors positioned on both sides of the vehicle.
Bus: 13m Low Entry class II (left and right side)
8 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC standard)
Description of functionality: System that automatically maintains set vehicle speed while adjusting it to keep safe distance from a vehicle ahead. Using radars the system detects slower traffic and reduces speed accordingly, then returns to the preset speed once the road is clear.
Bus: 13m Normal Floor class III
9 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC Stop & Go)
Description of functionality: Extended version Stop & Go in addition to maintaining speed and distance, can automatically bring the vehicle to a complete stop when traffic halts and resume driving when traffic starts moving again.
Bus: 13m Normal Floor class III
10 Cybersecure Gateway ECU
Description of functionality: It is a central communication module in the vehicle’s electronic system that manages and secures data exchange between different in-vehicle networks.
Bus: 13m Low Entry class II
The scope of engineering works for each of the above-mentioned systems should include:
• Plan and organize testing activities
• Get initial parameter configurations ready for testing and adapt to the specific bus
• Conduct the system integration session with the vehicle
• Engineering support for the execution of performance-focused tests, including a Data Logger set up, validation, and initial data collection
• Evaluate and interpret the collected test results
• Prepare a report summarizing the outcomes of testing, which includes:
o Description of test conditions
o Installation check of radars, cameras, sensors
o Test results for integration and performance of each ADAS system listed in pt. 4c
o Approval of application according to systems documentation
The Ordering Party Responsibilities
The Ordering Party shall provide the test vehicle(s), test driver(s), proving ground access and all necessary technical information required for execution of the validation activities. The Ordering Party shall select the proving ground location and coordinate access to the facility. The Ordering Party shall not be responsible for supplying measurement equipment, reference sensor systems, data acquisition systems or other engineering equipment required for test execution.
The Contractor Responsibilities
The Contractor shall plan, prepare and execute all proving ground validation activities. The Contractor shall provide all necessary measurement and data acquisition equipment, reference sensor systems, engineering resources, test methods, test cases and test documentation. The Contractor shall analyse the test results and provide comprehensive reporting demonstrating system performance and compliance with applicable UN-ECE requirements. Support in generating evidence required for the subsequent vehicle homologation p
